Mekomi — meaning “my place” in Hebrew — is a home for American-Israelis in the Austin area. We strengthen the connection between our community and Israel through educational, cultural, and community-building programs for families, kids, and adults.
Our mission
Mekomi exists to maintain and strengthen the connection between American-Israelis in the Austin area and Israel. Through educational, cultural, and community-building programs — including events, workshops, and resources — we help families preserve their cultural identity, pass heritage on to the next generation, and build meaningful lives within the broader American society they now call home.
What we do
From casual get-togethers to holiday celebrations and community gatherings, our programs bring the Austin American-Israeli community together around shared traditions and new friendships.
